Transplant Institute Case Statement
Solving the Organ Shortage Crisis
Challenge
The newly established Transplant Institute had a stable of underfunded groundbreaking projects that could completely transform the field of transplant care.
Philanthropists with capacity to greenlight these projects are typically attracted to areas of support with more personal relevance or public recognition (e.g., cancer, cardiology). Patients in need of transplants tend to skew from underserved demographics.
Solution
A strategic, compelling case statement that tells the story of the Transplant Institute
My Role
Project management; editing; writing; creative direction; interview guidance
Approach
Delivered a final product packed with key information but designed to be easy for someone with limited time to casually flip through and absorb
Collaborated closely with the writer on lay/“headlines-only” editorial style; developed interview questions alongside institute leadership
Worked with the designer on an aesthetic that emphasized innovation and an easily digestible layout
Outcome
Leadership from both the Transplant Institute and the Office of Development lauded the case statement as a perfect reflection of the institute’s goals and also a highly valuable fundraising tool
